About Fairy Meadows Tour

Our Fairy Meadows tour takes you to one of the best camping locations in Pakistan. Fairy Meadows, named by German Climbers (German Märchenwiese, “Fairytale Meadows”) and locally known as Joot, is a grassland near one of the base campsites of Mount Nanga Parbat (an 8000m high peak), located in Diamer District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. At an altitude of about 3,300 meters above sea level, it serves as the launching point for trekkers summiting on the Rakhiot Face of the Nanga Parbat. In 1995, the Government of Pakistan declared Fairy Meadows a National Park. Fairy Meadows is approachable by a 12 kilometer long jeep-able trek starting from Raikhot bridge on Karakoram Highway to the village Tattu (Tato). Further from Tato, it takes about three to four hours of hiking by a five-kilometer trek to Fairy Meadows. The grassland is located in the Rakhiot valley, at one end of the Rakhiot Glacier which originates from the Nanga Parbat and feeds a stream that finally falls into the River Indus. Since 1992, locals have operated camping sites in the area. The six-month tourist season at Fairy Meadows starts in April and continues until the end of September.

Detailed Travel Plan of Fairy Meadows Tour

Day 1: Friday
Board Bus/Train from Karachi and start your trip
Green Line Train departure time 10:00 pm
Sleeper Bus departure time 6:00 pm or 9:00 pm

Day 2: Saturday
By air package members will board the flight and reach Islamabad same day
All members can check in at Islamabad Hotel anytime from 1:00 pm onward
Dinner and stay in Islamabad Hotel for Karachi Package members

Day 3: Sunday
04:00 am Islamabad members reporting time
Departure for Chilas 5:00 am sharp
Drive via Hazara Motorway & Naran Road
Breakfast stop at Balakot
Stops at; Besal, Lulusar Lake, Babusar Top
Reach Chilas / Jaglot by evening
Dinner and night stay in Chilas / or Jaglot

Day 4: Monday
7:30 am Breakfast, check-out, and departure for Raikot
Board 4×4 Jeeps to Fairy Meadows from Raikot Bridge
2-hour Adventurous jeep ride to Tattu village
Group formation at Tattu village, prepare for the trek
Start trek to Fairy Meadows (3-4 hrs. average trek time)
(You can book horse ride & porter service at additional cost)
Reach Fairy Meadows, observe the beauty
Welcome tea will be served, and settle in camps
Dinner and bonfire night under billion stars
Night camping at Fairy Meadows (most prime location)
NOTE: Hut accommodation available at additional cost.

Day 5: Tuesday
Breakfast, spend free time & enjoy the nature
Visit Fairy Lake & Signal Point in local village
Spend free time at famous Reflection Lake
Explore the forest and surroundings
Dinner, bonfire, or go stargazing, Good Night 🙂
Night Camping at Fairy Meadows

Day 6: Wednesday
Breakfast, prepare for the beautiful trek
Trek to Beyal camp & viewpoint (2-3 hrs one way, easy trek through forest & meadows)
(Those not willing to trek can spend a free day and explore the surroundings)
Free time at Beyal Camp and Viewpoint
Back to Fairy Meadows,
Dinner, bonfire, night camping at Fairy Meadows

Day 7: Thursday
Breakfast, get ready for the return trek
Start return trek to Tattu village (2 hrs. only on return)
Board Jeeps, Reach Raikot Bridge, travel to Naran
Stops at; Babusar, Besal
Reach Naran by evening, free time
Dinner & night stay in Naran

Day 8: Friday
Breakfast, check-out, and departure for Islamabad
Visit Khanpur Dam on way back
Reach Islamabad by evening
End of services for Islamabad package members
Dinner & night stay in Islamabad

Day 9: Saturday
Check-out time till 1:00 pm, you can plan your outing in Islamabad

Children Policy
Not recommended for kids under 4 years. Half package price for 4+ to 8 years with child/folding seats in transport. Maximum 2 children at half price allowed with one family.
